Late 15th Century. The young Leonardo da Vinci has not yet become the great inventor and painter that we know so well today. He is a young boy like all the others, but his way of doing things is already very special indeed. Spending time with him is never boring because he is always inventing the most incredible of creations, like an elastic bicycle, a water park and a flying machine.
Leonardo has three best buddies: Lorenzo, Gioconda and the wooden robot Tiglio. Gottardo and Laura, the children of the Lord of Vinci, are Leonardo's sworn enemies, and they try, by every means possible, to outdo him. One of the means they often resort to is the Witch Plinia and her magic potions. But Leonardo can be counted upon to have a fantastic idea up his sleeve and every time succeeds in having, along with his loyal friends, a truly amazing adventure.
The contrasts between Leonardo’s group and Gottardo’s one is the element which characterises each episode.
Other characteristic elements of the episodes are Cococò and the group of three singers accompanying the storytelling with funny songs and a cat (named Pardo) who cynically comments on what is happening.
